Straits time reported that: http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/primenews/story/0,1870,54034,00.html?

CJ upholds acquittal judgment passed by District Judge Audrey Lim's, He even praised her for 'her high-quality grounds of judgment' and said that the prosecutor was not been able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that it was Ms Tubbs' negligence and caused the deaths of the three people.

Do you think that there is some 'Technical' problem in this case?

Isn't that the acquitting of the driver is because of a 'low standard' prosecutor gave an unimpressive presentation in the court?

'If Ms Tubbs is not guilty, to me, that means that my family is guilty , and that is why I'm very upset.' said the victims husband, 'They never contacted me and there was never a public apology. That is why I'm very angry. They don't have any feelings of guilt,' he said.

What kind of judicial system we have?

The laws for negligence are quite onerous, the burden of proof is on the prosecution to prove convincingly that the woman was negligent in her driving.

I did not follow the case closely, but this is the general rule in any negligence case. Always wondered why she didn't get charged with involuntary manslaughter?
