The mizuno mp 59 irons features a lightweight Titanium insert forged directly into the back of the club head. The thicker Ti Muscle material behind impact ensures that the centre of gravity is located closer to the clubface, which allows better players the ability to work shots whilst still offering the forgiveness of the cavity-back design. The Mizuno MP-59 is an evolution of the successful MP-58 model. With the Ti weight added to the MP-59, off-center strikes will benefit from even greater stability. The appearance of the MP-59s is also improved by reducing the offset as a result of this improved stability. Thanks to the help of Mizuno's Tour Staff, the MP-59 now features a thinner top-line, a weightier sole and a new sole grind.
mp 59 irons have been launched. Mizuno has forged a titanium pad into the back of the head using the weight saved by this move to improve forgiveness. Mizuno's Grain Flow forged feel and classic shallow cavity design will attract many low and mid handicap players.
The forged Ti Muscle Technology of the mp 59 is evident from the first swing. The titanium insert forged behind the impact area provides a solid feel and it provides just the right amount of forgiveness. I'm not a scratch golfer so I can't afford to be penalized on the course with an off center shot. But, at the same time, I don't want to play golf with a shovel so I want feedback when I'm not making solid contact. With the MP-59s, you get the feedback you want and the forgiveness you need.
The mizuno mp 59 priceare rated for the low to mid handicap golfer, but in my experience, you don't have to be an expert to hit them. I am on the high side of the rating (at 12.8) and I didn't have any trouble striking the ball. I will say, though, if you're accustomed to a wide sole and a large offset with your current set of clubs, you'll have trouble out of the gate with the MP-59s. I subscribe to "The Wedge Guy"'s philosophy that the golf industry wants you to think you're not good enough to hit a player's club. However, you'd be surprised how quickly your ball striking will improve if you made the jump from a game improvement club to a player's club like the MP-59. And who doesn't want to be a better striker of the ball?
