it's funny you mention that. i, in all honesty, have only met one woman in my entire lifetime that killed her own bugs... and she was a butch lesbian.

all joking aside (i don't think you're a lesbian). how many women here don't go running and screaming when they see a bug? reptiles? amphibians?

MG,

I think it is all in how a person is raised. If a daughter sees her mother being scared of bugs, snakes, etc., then that may give the daughter the tendency to be afraid of bugs too. My grandmother and mother aren't afraid of killing bugs, snakes, rats, mice, etc. In fact, nearly all the women in my family kill their own bugs, snakes, rats, mice, etc. Is that normal? As far as I am concerned it is normal because that is what I grew up seeing.

I was raised on a farm, and bugs, snakes and such were part of everyday life... One thing I can not stand is a wasp....

I'm afraid of roaches touching my skin, because I have this impression that they're filthy. Doesn't stop me from stepping on them.

But the worst part is that they can fly

The same logic can be applied to many aspects of life.. If you are used to seeing violence, then you are not effected by watching it, or in some cases, doing it yourself.......

roaches are very dirty insects actually, they cover themselves in their own saliva and excretions. many people are allergic or can become allergic due to exposure to cockroach scales, cockroaches can also spread certain diseases.

I hope I've helped you with your phobia

so do you get the brown ones or the black ones in singapore? the brown ones are the really nasty buggers, they can fly

All I have ever seen in the US are the nasty little brown ones.. Yes, they do fly.. One flew in my sisters hair once.. We were at a friends barn bathing horses, and she had them in her barn.. My oldest sister said something was in her hair.. and she had a big roach in it.... We have not let her live that one down..
