Lets juz say that u got into a serious accident which left u paralysed waist down and the doctors say the only way to save u was to clone another "u" and havest the spareparts in order to make u whole again. Wud u do it?

The thing i am puzzled with is that the real u, do u still feel the same, like yr life experiences and memories, is it copied over?

no, you would not feel the same, because you are only the same from the very begining of your life if you are/have a clone, because you will have grown in different circumstances, rather than identical ones. You will most likely not look completely identical, even if you are a complete duplicate, so there for will think different, and never share memories, because you or your clone will have never had them.

I don't see how. you mean clone yourself and then wait 18 years for that person to fully grow, and then cut of his legs and use them for yourself?
that would be murder, and it has nothing to do with the ethics of cloning right? if I had an identical twin, I wouldn't cut of his legs just so I could walk again either.
it seems to me like if we continue research into this field, we will be able to clone individual parts of the body by simply cutting out and modifying parts of your DNA. need a new heart? just clone the heart without the rest of the body in a lab and then transplant it. we could all live 500 years.
p.s. you cannot clone the brain memories and such, they are NOT stored in your DNA.

This is what they were planning to do from the start.. Just that people twist it around and start imagining different scenarios to deter people from "playing god"..

Let juz say all they have to do is extract the stems cells from ur clone to facillitate ur regeneration of ur spinal cord allowing u to walk again but the procedure will entail the destruction of ur clone.
This of course is hypothetical but wud u allow the doctors to conduct this procedure? Afterall the clone is merely a product of ur own cells?

So one can achieve imortallity by replacing the dead cell or brain by cloning???

if you're talking about extracting the stem cells from embryos or fetuses, then yes I support it. (this would be just a continuation of the abortion argument right?).
A born clone however, should and will have all the same rights as any other human being. as I said before, you can't kill your twin to save yourself, why would you be able to kill your born clone?
I still don't see a situation where this will arise though. one of the ultimate goals of this research is the ability to clone individual parts of your body. so they would just extract the DNA that defines your spinal cord and make you a new one.

no, you cannot clone memories, they are not stored in your DNA. you could theoretically change every other part of the body and transplant your old brain into it, but even so the brain has a biological life span of about 130-140 years (barring disease).

Maybe oneday they can clone memory as well like issuing diskcopy command

deathknight is right though, I don't think we are ready yet. we need to experiment more with animals and then embryos before humans. but in the future? absolutely. we are in the age of biotechnology ...
hmm..come to think of it, isn't medicine or to have an operation to save your life, acting god too?? Guess this is just perceptions..and people can bend this to their liking..
etc when people doesn't like, or are uncomfortable with a certain new technological idea..they say: we shouldn't do this and that coz we must not "play god"...
It has never been stated in the bible that cloning is not allowed right?

Yeh!!! Maybe we can "communicate" by sending signals through the web...Dun even have to use languages... But what if someone hacks into your brain and plants a virus that gives you the urge to dance naked in public for instance?

Human clonig will probably go the way of the nuclear bomb, have a hundered tests, make one real world use, and have generations of poeple fear it.
