To day Straits Time reported:
Singapore needs extra 8,000 babies a year to maintain its population level and every year, married women here have around 8,000 abortions.

So Singapore actually has an able population, and actually no adoption of baby from outside Singapore is require if arrangement can be properly make.

The problem of people here not willing to have more children is our family planning policy and campaign: 'Two is enough, if you can afford than u have more'.

I think those who go for abortion with this reason should deserve a medal from the government and not those who can afford.

well, with the stress on mothers going into the work force, question they should ask is: where got time to look after kids?!?

how bout pregnancies that resulted from pre-marital sex?
un-planned pregnancies?
juvenile pregnancies?
government policies that told us to stop at two, long long time ago has already been a mindset?
...and many more

so many questions, are they even considered before they even print that article?

geez...having watched one of those video clips on abortion procedures i'm of the opinion that everyone going for an abortion should watch one of those...and chances are 99% she'd change her mind...then less abortion cases...

i assume that's becos they were not pregnant

for those who r pregnant and do not wanna keep the baby, the video would not be a strong deterrence...

I am doubt about that figure......there should be some discount considering there are people really need to abort the baby due to health reason instead of "short gun"
