Scientists are warning that the predicted size of the variant CJD epidemic may have been underestimated.
Research in mice suggests that only people with the shortest incubation periods for the disease are showing symptoms of the human form of BSE.
If confirmed, the findings would mean that the current cases are just the tip of the iceberg and that a "second wave" of cases will emerge.

hmz...me interpret the whole report as that the madcow disease is a prolonged process
I mean, the effect is not full-blown yet...
if that's the case...then there's gonna be another 'outbreak' of madcow disease, which in fact, is a continuation frm the first one...juz that these 'new' cases are those that are surfacing onli now...
am I right to say that??

It has always been a cycles year after years, cown then pig then chicken(in Hong Kong remember? It was after the Pig one in China I think) then fish(seafood), then back agian...

It's bird flu, I thought like the FMD, it's not dangerous to humans, in fact, their meat is safe to eat, except it's bad for business because its highly contagious to other animals?

ermm...death to humans is not dangerous to human...den i have no fear liao.....
heheeh....in certain cases...it will cause death...in fact the previous ourbreak of the bird flu in HK caused 6 deaths.
