You know, whenever i hit reply button, the window would reload and show me that reply box together with all the relies others gave below. That reply i don't know why now is always refreshed and not gotten from the cache.
UBB i think would load up in an instant coz it's gotten from cache, but for jawbreaker it's always loaded.
Me on 56K, so very slow.

And another thing, i realized that after all the data has been sent to my client browser, the rendering would be very slow. Me P100, so can really _feel it_ man. My browser would "hang" for 10s before displaying.

Any comments?

The reason why it is reloaded from the server is because we rely on PHP session management to verify the poster's identity. Such session management requires the page to be reloaded (caching session data is possible but not appropriate for forum software, you won't want another person to post a msg with your id ) Yes, I would try to come out with s configuration whereby users can choose not to have a replies loaded below the reply box.

Sorry, i do not quite understand this. You mean that when u submit a reply form, and after Jawbreaker redirect you to the message listing, the rendering is very slow?? (or issit it is taking a long time to download, rather than rendering??)

Think i found a small bug. When i replied by "quoting" your post, i could only see this paragraph. You reply consisted of 2 quotes, but i can only get the last quote by you.

What i mean is that i could see my modem flashing.....ok, d/ling d/ling, then suddenly the browser would "hang", as in sucking up all the CPU cycles. Switch windows also cannot. For my P100, it'd take something like 15s before it shows the stuff.
Hope my description is ok. PII-450 in my office is ok. Oh well, small case lar.

Are you using netscape?

Heehee....will be getting new comp next week. Hopefully can do 700 - > 933.

Anyway, even in my office, PII-450 with G400, netscape 4.7, there is still a slight noticeable delay.

Yeah, i guess it's only netscape, coz i am now testing with IE and the delay is only about 2-3 secs. Netscape is around 10-15s depending on the page length. But no problem lar, anyway i don't think that many people use low powered computers.
