If you kick up a fuss, they may replace it FOC. was it replaced or repaired the 3 times u went?

ahem.

but seriously, that sucks. i'd raise some huge hell on that, man. it's obvious there was a mfr'g problem with the drives. they have to answer for that.

Think IBM hard disks are 3 years warranty. Don't think yours have expired. Anyway, IBM admitted it's the manufacturing fault for their 75GXP series and they are willing to replace faulty hard disks with their 60GXP series. Maybe you can check with them.

confirmed. my OEM dealer only warranties for a year but IBM will cover it an additional 2 years. I talked to a representative and he said I'd probably just get another 75gxp though

guess I just won't store important stuff on it (like my p0rn )

kinda hard to fill up a 30gig with unimportant stuff but then maybe this a good chance to check out all the OS

Mi recommends software raid, like the Win2K one, any two hdd, any partition size, beri safe One cons, can't revert dynamic disk back to basic disk, gotta fdisk when you don't want it! Always keep your "blood sweat" downloads safe
