7. Gameplay
In a word: Fun!

Don’t get me wrong. The game is really difficult, and I mean, DAMN difficult. I can only reach Chapter 5 (out of six), even with the lowest difficulty level and with maximum health and continues! Some of the victims seem nigh impossible to save!

But the cheesy music, and the great graphics and great animation will keep you hooked on the game, and just going back for more.

I think that I need to look for bonuses (extra lives, power boost, shields, etc) in order to sustain myself long enough to finish this game. I am still not too sure what exactly these additional items can do for you, but I suspect I need to.

In addition, there are multiple paths in this game, depending on whether you are able to save certain victims from their deaths or not. If you are successful, they will usually show you a special shortcut or give you a key to another area of the game.

Should you reach an untimely end, or complete the game, the game shows you the path you took, and it shows you the various possibilities of the game.

One thing I do have a problem with is with obstruction of the screen. When you fail to shoot an incoming projectile or get bitten by a monster, the centre part of the screen (which is the most crucial, if you ask me) becomes a little obscured by the blood or projectile, which makes it hard to aim at the monsters in the meantime. But this is a small complaint too because the monsters usually back off a while after biting you.
